To address the growing demands within the Department of Defense, SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Platform Engineer to support the data, analytics, digital, and AI capabilities of our Digital and AI Team. As we embark on a new initiative leading the design, solutioning, and operations of integrated Enterprise IT solutions, we are dedicated to delivering world-class AI-enabled capabilities and enabling data-driven decision making to global missions across the Department, Services, and Combatant Commands.

The Ideal candidate will be adept at managing customer relationships, driving operational excellence, and fostering continuous improvement across all service areas in a global environment.

Your Responsibilities Include:

• Designs and implements scalable, reliable, and high-performance platform infrastructure to support the storage and processing requirements of various applications, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize and maintain the infrastructure, automate deployment processes, and monitor system performance to troubleshoot issues effectively.
• Provides engineering expertise across the entire product/system lifecycle from concept development to operations, ensuring integration with other systems and technologies to provide seamless operation.
• Develops total platform system products, which may include concept design, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or similar.
• Proficient with DevOps tools and practices such as: CI/CD (GitLab, Jenkins), configuration management (Ansible, Puppet), and monitoring tools (Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Conducts training sessions on the primary technology and platforms used within the organization, ensuring new team members are proficient in the tools necessary for their roles.
• Provides hands-on demonstrations and guided practice on essential software, systems, and platforms.
• Collaborates with software development teams to ensure the platform supports the application requirements and performance needs.
• Develop and manage Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline the software development lifecycle.
• Provides engineering support in a flexible environment to ensure continuous operations based on mission demands.
• Documents failover and continuity of operations (COOP) plans for data systems and participate in testing failover capabilities as required, continuously improving response plans and procedures.
• Monitor system performance, reliability, and security, identifying and resolving issues proactively, troubleshoots complex technical problems and provides timely resolutions.
• Analyzes assignments in the form of objectives, implied tasks, and establishes goals to successfully meet outlined objectives in the designated sprint, leading junior engineers in accomplishing tasks as required.
• Has a general knowledge of IT disciplines to provide direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance.
• Ensures appropriate compliance regulations are established and upheld.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
You Bring to The Table:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years or more experience; Master's and three (3) years' experience in designated field. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Experience working in a DoD environment supporting Combatant Commands and/or Joint Staff in an enterprise IT environment, across multiple domains and various clearance levels.
• Experience working in an Agile Community, using Agile methodology for product and project management.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as experience with large-scale data integration projects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
• US citizenship and Secret security clearance is required. Must be able to obtain, or maintain, the security clearance as required.

Preferred Qualifications:
We'd Love It If You Also Have:

• Security+ Certification.
• Cloud (AWS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) certification.
• ITIL certification is a plus.
• AWS AI Practitioner Certification is ideal.
• SAFe, Agile/Scrum/PMP certification(s) is ideal.
• Familiarity with working with API's and JSON and XML file formats.
• Experience working with programming languages such as Python.

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
