The candidate would be a retired or transitioning senior enlisted MM/EN or Surface Engineering Officer (LDO/CWO) with Gator and Instructor experience.
JOB TITLE: Auxiliary/Mechanical Subject Matter Expert (SME)
CUSTOMER: NAVSEA/PMS-339, Deck-Self Assessment and Groom Training (D-SAGT)
SALARY RANGE: $85K - $98K / Per Year
BENEFITS: We have Medical, Dental, Vision, Pet Insurance, 401k with 4% match. Long/Short Term Disability and Life Insurance. 25 days of PTO per year. Employees may choose to work or take PTO on Federal Holidays (pending contract requirements). We also offer Tuition Reimbursement up to $5,250 per year for areas of study relevant to employee position responsibilities and opportunities for professional growth.
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Secret
TRAVEL REQUIRED: 30% or less. Expect travel to Everett, WA, Hawaii, Yokosuka (Japan), and Sasebo (Japan).
JOB DESCRIPTION: D-SAGT employs a blended learning solution by combining “classroom learning” with “hands-on training” to convey theory and knowledge. Provided by a Training Team, the D-SAGT utilizes a crews “own-ship” as the classroom, providing Sailors with training on their own systems.
QUALIFICATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 10 years of experience as an Auxiliary Systems Technician (afloat).
• MM or EN background preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with Joint Fleet Maintenance principles, practices, processes, and administration.
• Master Level Experience in boat engineering, hydraulic, maintenance, and troubleshooting (inspection, repair, testing).
• Minimum 3 years of experience as LCPO on Amphibious Class Ships.
• Experience in Maintenance & Material Management (3M).
• At least one tour of duty in one or more of the following roles: ATG / NBG / TMIT / Navy Schools Instructor, INSURV, RMC.
