The Multi-domain Solutions Division (MDS) within the Leidos National Security Sector is seeking a skilled Advanced Technical Trainer to join a new cyber security program and play a key role in supporting government-critical systems. You will be part of a program that oversees development, integration, delivery, and operations and maintenance of IT managed security services, which encompasses support to monitor the cybersecurity threat and security posture situational awareness for the enterprise. This opportunity is in anticipation of a future contract award!

What you’ll be doing:
  • Design, implement, and evaluate training sessions on various IT topics, ensuring learners gain hands-on experience with the latest technologies.  
  • Work with employees, clients, or students to enhance their technical proficiency in areas such as networking, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and software development. 
  • Develop Training Programs – Create course materials, manuals, and instructional content for technical topics like software development, networking, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.
  • Deliver Training Sessions – Conduct in-person or virtual training sessions, workshops, and seminars for employees, clients, or students.
  • Assess Training Needs – Identify skill gaps through surveys, assessments, or discussions with stakeholders to tailor training programs accordingly.
  • Provide Hands-on Training – Demonstrate technical concepts through practical labs, simulations, or real-world scenarios.
  • Evaluate Learning Outcomes – Test trainees' knowledge with quizzes, exams, or projects to measure the effectiveness of the training.
  • Keep Up with Industry Trends – Stay updated on the latest technologies, certifications, and best practices to ensure relevant training content.
  • Customize Training Materials – Adapt training content to fit different audiences, such as beginner, intermediate, or advanced learners.
  • Support Certification Preparation – Help trainees prepare for industry certifications like CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, AWS, or other IT credentials.
  • Collaborate with Departments – Work with HR, IT teams, and management to align training with business needs and career development plans.
  • Providing Technical Support – Assist trainees with troubleshooting technical issues related to training exercises.


What does Leidos need from me?
  • Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) with Polygraph security clearance required. Must be U.S. Citizen.
  • Bachelor's degree and 8 to 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 to 10 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.


Favorable if you have:
  • Experience in adult learning principles and instructional design (e.g., ADDIE model, Bloom’s Taxonomy).
  • Understanding of ITIL, Agile, or project management principles if teaching IT service management.
  • Proficiency in developing and delivering training materials, e-learning modules, and hands-on labs.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills for engaging learners effectively.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for different audiences (beginners to advanced learners).
  • Expertise in specific technologies, such as networking, cybersecurity, cloud computing, software development, databases, etc.
  • Relevant industry certifications, such as: CompTIA (A+, Network+, Security+), Cisco (CCNA, CCNP), Microsoft (MCP, MCSA, Azure certifications), AWS (AWS Certified Trainer, AWS Solutions Architect), Google Cloud, Linux, or DevOps certifications.

Pay Range: Pay Range $80,600.00 - $145,700.00
