DESCRIPTION
Position: Serbo-Croatian (Serbian Dialect) Linguist (CAT III)
Location: Kosovo
Clerance: TS/SCI with favorable poly
Position Description:
Mission Essential is accepting applications for linguist candidates who speaks Serbo-Croatian, and English to provide foreign language interpretation and translation services in support of the U.S. Military in and around the European Command. Duties would include but are not limited to:
• Speak, Read, and Write in clear and concise grammar and pronunciation required in Albanian, Serbo-Croatian, and English at a minimum level C1 on the CEFR Scale. This would include interpretation, transcription, and translation.
• Have familiarity with and ability to conduct oneself in accordance with the local culture and customs.
• Be willing and able to live and work in harsh environments, to include living and working in temporary facilities as mission dictated
• Accurately provide the cultural and ethnic context of translations and interpretations and provide advice to the user on the cultural and ethnic significance of statements, conversations, situations, documents, etc.
• Ability to function effectively and efficiently during extended periods of high pressure and stress
• Serve as an integral member of a team of highly trained professionals responsible for the safety and security of U.S. forces, U.S. and foreign dignitaries, and facilities/resources.
Position Notes:
• Working hours are 5 days per week for a minimum of 8 hours per day
• Possible mission related travel within USAREUR AOR
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
• Must be a United States Citizen with TS/SCI favorable poly
• Speak, Read, and Write in clear and concise grammar and pronunciation the required in Serbo-Croation and English at level C1 on the CEFR grading scale.
• Must have a SECRET clearance or higher to start this position.
• We will process a security clearance for qualified individuals.
• Must meet medical requirements for deployment
