Description
SAIC has an opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join an elite team providing Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services in Springfield, VA . The selected candidate will work multiple ground system projects and tasks-from broad, strategic issues (e.g. policies, concept of operations, etc.) to tactical concerns (e.g., near-term schedules, testing, system integration and transition, etc.) to support vital operational missions.
Responsibilities:
• Support Chief Engineer and government staff to execute systems engineering and integration (SE&I) activities across customer site and work collaboratively with other customer organizations across the mission enterprise.
• Work with SE&I teams to execute site system engineering process. Oversee site processes used to document and manage site baseline to accommodate evolving mission needs.
• Collaborate with System Program Offices (SPO), local operations teams, and other Government Agencies to integrate various GEOINT space missions into a ground-based architecture; ensure the delivering organization understands site integration needs and processes.
• Assist in developing standards, processes and procedures, and operations and maintenance plans.
• Review and evaluate technical documentation (e.g. RFCs, CONOPS, requirements, issues and risks, etc.).
• Represent government's interests at various forums; provide analysis and recommendations to multiple government customers.
• Serve as liaison between GPOC and internal/external organizational project managers to guide and monitor progress.
• Occasional CONUS travel.
Qualifications
Required:
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Active TS/SCI with CI polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM)* and nine (9) years or more experience; or master's in STEM field and seven (7) years or more experience. *contract requirement.
• Expertise in full system engineering life cycle- from concept, requirements, design and development, to deployment and operational maintenance.
• Experience with project management supporting the delivery, integration, and transition of mission systems and/or mission applications.
• Ability to work independently to support multiple government customers and large, complex projects to address organization's needs throughout system development lifecycle.
• Self-starter, with ability to proactively address customer requirements without supervision and to readily define solutions for broad, abstract topics.
• Polished communicator (written/verbal) with impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment. Must be comfortable briefing or communicating with senior government managers.
• Master at collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders -- consensus builder.
Desired:
• Real-time operations experience as a SIGINT or GEOINT spacecraft operator, spacecraft engineer, or ground systems operator.
• Familiarity with space operations and policies, ground operations, and system requirements/governance policies.
• Familiar with Digital Engineering/Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Agile development, cloud technologies.
