Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Earned Value Analyst to join our team. This role is critical in supporting project performance and control by implementing, maintaining, and analyzing Earned Value Management (EVM) systems. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of EVM principles, and experience in project-based environments—preferably within government or defense sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
EVM System Implementation & Maintenance
Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to establish and maintain EVM systems for assigned projects.
Develop and manage Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) in alignment with EVM best practices.
Define and document earned value measurement techniques tailored to each project.
Establish and maintain Performance Measurement Baselines (PMBs) to track project progress accurately.
Data Collection & Analysis
Gather and validate Actual Cost (AC), Planned Value (PV), and Earned Value (EV) data.
Calculate and interpret core EVM metrics including Schedule Variance (SV), Cost Variance (CV), Schedule Performance Index (SPI), and Cost Performance Index (CPI).
Conduct variance analysis and trend forecasting to identify risks, issues, and opportunities.
Reporting & Forecasting
Prepare and submit timely and accurate Integrated Program Management Reports (IPMRs) in compliance with contract and regulatory guidelines.
Generate actionable insights and performance narratives to support leadership decision-making.
Develop project forecasts such as Estimate at Completion (EAC) and projected completion timelines.
Draft and maintain Limitation of Funds letters and other contractual documentation as required.
Communication & Collaboration
Present EVM findings and forecasts to stakeholders, project managers, and senior leadership.
Partner with teams to create and track corrective action plans addressing performance gaps.
Participate in project reviews, audits, and risk management sessions.
Continuous Improvement
Stay current with evolving EVM standards, tools, and industry best practices.
Recommend process enhancements and contribute to the evolution of internal EVM tools and methodologies.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in Earned Value Management, preferably in a project-driven or government contracting environment.
Technical Skills:
Solid understanding of EVM principles, calculations, and reporting standards.
Proficiency in EVM software tools and Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, charts, and advanced formulas).
Familiarity with IPMR Data Item Descriptions (DIDs) and related compliance requirements.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
Effective communicator with the ability to translate technical data into clear insights.
High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
EVP (Earned Value Professional) certification.
