What will I be doing? You will be supporting the Air Force Operational Medicine Information Systems (AFOMIS) Program Office efforts in providing health-related Information Management/ Information Technology (IM/IT) services support to deployed Airmen and collocated personnel.The support includes Medical Expeditionary Systems (MEDXS), medical waivers workflow management, Expeditionary Health Data Store (EHDS), medical analytics dashboards, integrated IM/IT testing capability, medical operations; expeditionary deployment operations and installation contingency response; planning; training; and readiness support functions.In this role, you will:
  • Oversee the design, development, and integration of MEDXS and AFOMIS OpMed IM/IT applications, ensuring alignment with operational medicine requirements
  • Oversee the integration of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) products into MEDXS systems, validating methods, procedures, and decision support tools
  • Lead the maintenance of configuration management processes, ensuring system baselines are documented and verified for global installations
  • Formulate strategies for system interoperability, technology refreshment, and sustainment to support the AFMS mission in garrison and theater environments
  • Oversee engineering processes to ensure systems meet documented requirements
  • Manage engineering studies, design evaluations, and prototype development to support MEDXS application design and technology refreshment, ensuring solutions meet AFMS needs
  • Ensure systems are designed with secure architecture, incorporating DoD-approved security controls
  • Oversee system upgrade trips to deploy updates and enhancements at global locations
  • Lead or oversee site surveys to assess system readiness for MEDXS implementation, coordinating with site leadership and developing deployment plans
  • Maintain ITE environments and support configuration management
  • Execute software validation, testing, and release support.
  • Other duties as assigned
What experience, training, and education do I need?

You mustmeet theminimumrequirements:
  • Active Secret clearance
  • 10+ years experience in the implementation, configuration and sustainment of the following capabilities: TMIP-J applications, USAF standard server and workstation baseline images; medical waivers workflow systems and medical analytics dashboards in an enterprise environment; integrated IM/IT testing capability in physical and virtual environments.
  • A BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Software Engineering from an ABET accredited or CAE designated institution OR one of the following certifications:
    • CSSLP or GCLD or GSEC
    • IAW DoDD 8140 applicable military training is acceptable in lieu of degree and/or certification
  • Experience overseeing COTS/GOTS integration and ensuring system interoperability with DoD enterprise systems
  • Expertise in maintaining system configuration baselines and ensuring compliance with DoD standards
  • Ability to travel, flexibility to work in dynamic, deployed environments and willingness to work in secure facilities
  • Understanding of HIPAA requirements to protect PHI
  • Understanding of the RMF process
  • Skills in conducting engineering studies, evaluations, and prototype development
  • Experience with FedRAMP-approved cloud environments or DoD Cloud
