Our NORAD Operations Group
Selected by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division for Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of critical mission systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC), we support the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II).
Since 2020, through the (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II), has provided:
• Operations, maintenance, and Sustainment of current and legacy systems for the surveillance and cataloging of manmade objects in space.
• Mitigation of orbital conflicts.
• Threat warnings and control from airborne, land-based, and space-based systems for threat activities.
• Operations and maintenance of classified communications.
• Software development and integration.
NISSC II supports the classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability and legacy space C2 systems located at:
• Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), Colorado
• Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado
• Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska
• Vandenberg Space Force Base, California
• Numerous sensor and forward operator sites around the world
Description of Duties:
The Systems Administrator supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will:
• Implement/maintain various technical systems and serves as an interface to the supported community users.
• Provide guidance, direction, and training to others in the group.
• Serve as a backup to lead computer systems administrator.
• Build and/or debug complicated hardware and software to correct difficult problems using technically advanced problem-solving skills.
• Develop and implement system documentation and operating procedures. Identifies and corrects processing anomalies.
• Install operating system software, patches, and upgrades.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve system hardware, software, and networking issues.
• Configure, optimize, fine-tune, and monitor operating system software and hardware.
• Perform system backups, recovery, and server builds.
• Provide systems administrator support to systems hosting complex operational databases, software configuration control, and system interfaces for computer systems.
• Manage file servers and network access to include analyzing, troubleshooting, and documenting system anomalies.
• Perform and provide server, workstation, and system expertise including on-site and off-site travel.
• Coordinate and schedule system upgrades and maintenance.
• Provide guidance, direction, and training to others in the group. Serves as backup to other computer systems administrators.
• Perform and provide server and workstation expertise including on-site and off-site travel.
• Order replacement of new hardware and software including warranty claims.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
This position will be filled and work onsite at Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station in Colorado Springs, CO

Basic Requirements:
• Must have 5 years of general (fulltime) work experience
• Must have 2 years of directly related experience
• Must have experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments
• Must have experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems (OS) administration and associated hardware
• Must have experience with VMWare and system visualization
• Must have experience with Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies.
• Must have an understanding of virtual machine and Remote Desktop.
• Must have a current DoD IAT Level II or higher (Sec )
• Must have an active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility
Desired Requirements:
• Have an Associate's degree in a computer field.
• Have VMware Certification (VCP/VCAP)
• Have Cyber and Space Operations experience.
• Have a basic understanding of network topologies and protocols.
• Have Remedy trouble ticket experience.
This position is expected to pay $85,000 - $100,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
