Raytheon's Naval Systems department within the Ground Radars and Platforms Center is seeking to bring on an experienced Principal Systems Engineer with knowledge in test planning and execution with extensive customer interaction to support department portfolio activity. This individual will lead a small team supporting configuration and initial troubleshooting of BEP hardware. The individual needs experience working with networking equipment, hardware configuration, and working within a Linux environment.

What You Will Do

• Lead the Portsmouth, RI based onsite team with BEP hardware configuration activities, ensuring hardware is delivered in the required state to meet customer need dates
• Create and manage long term plan to meet customer projected need dates, as well as detailed execution schedule of system currently in configuration
• Highlight areas where efficiencies and process improvements can be implemented, and work to drive improvements to schedule, safety of hardware, and reduction of cost
• Work with operations teams to understand projected BEP hardware deliveries and understand any outstanding issues or concerns
• Coordinate delivery and shipment of hardware from lab space
• Support quarterly EAC and monthly LRE for scope of work

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience.
• Experience with hardware configuration.
• Experience with Linux.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Prior experience supporting BEP hardware
• Prior experience with earned value management
• Extensive experience interfacing with customer, shipyards, and configuration collaborator
• Experience identifying and troubleshooting issues with hardware, and clearly documenting all actions and steps taken
• A successful track record of interfacing with Technical SMEs to support issue resolution and troubleshooting.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
