Your greatest work is ahead!
Leidos’ Defense Systems Land Systems is seeking a Lead Sustainment Engineer to join the Indirect Fire Protection Capability Increment 2 (IFPC Inc2) Program, which is a ground-based, mobile system that aims to combat cruise missiles and unmanned aircraft systems. As part of the IFPC, the system protects and defends civilian and military infrastructure and bridges the gap between tactical short range air defense systems and our strategic systems. The Lead Sustainment Engineer will track sustainment-related activities, such as Root Cause analyses of in-service problems (Operational hazards, Corrosion effects, Reliability Degradation) and Logistics deliverables (user manuals, emplacement procedure, repair/replace procedures, and others) for fielded IFPC Inc 2 launchers and report their status to the program’s technical leadership. Additionally, this Lead Sustainment Engineer will serve as a technical liaison with customer representatives and users. This position is highly visible and ensures that fielded systems remain operational, reliable, and safe.
The Lead Sustainment Engineer will work in a matrixed organization, which supports multiple programs at once in a variety of engineering fields with all different team environments. When the program ends, the Lead Sustainment Engineer will have the opportunity to support a different program in the matrixed engineering portfolio. A candidate with weapon platform development experience, logistics experience, and experience in systems engineering areas such as Model-Based Systems Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Safety Engineering, and Reliability Analysis will be treated preferentially. However, a strong background in traditional systems engineering and technical leadership is what is required for this position.
