ASRC Federal Technical Services is seeking a Software Application Tester to join our Remote Monitoring and Logging System ( RMLS ) team that supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ.
RMLS is the FAA's logging system for recording maintenance work performed on facilities in the National Airspace System (NAS). RMLS provides a rich database of unstructured text; reading every log file.
We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled individual to work independently, with minimal supervision, and in a team environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in testing software and web-based applications; automation testing experience is a plus! This individual requires:
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT : Permanent Residency (with 3 years residing in the US) or US Citizenship is required for the FAA Public Trust/background investigation.

- To provide expertise in software requirements analysis, design, design reviews, development, software testing, integration, installation, and/or maintenance of complex computer systems.
- Experience with software programming in the languages used for the NAS and NAS supported systems, such as C, C++, JAVA, SQL, and Assembly.

Required Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Math, or a Bachelor's degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and seven (7) years of related work experience in a computer science or math field . OR
- Master's Degree in any field of study with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours of either undergrad or grad study in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and five (5) years related work experience in a computer science or math field .
- Proficient in testing client/server applications hosted on Enterprise Systems with Oracle/SQL Server backend.
- Have strong attention to details.
- Ability to:
- Work independently, as well as on a team.
- Troubleshoot and isolate defects within a complex software system.
- Communicate effectively through verbal and written communication.
Preferred Skills
- Prior FAA Test experience.
- Experience in:
- C#
- Web-based or mobile test automation using test tools such as Selenium, MSTest, NUnit, ExtentReports, and/or Jenkins.
- Performance Testing using JMeter.
- Working on Agile teams (Scrum/Kanban), using JIRA or similar defect/bug tracking tools.
- Knowledge of:
- Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) framework for automation testing on .NET applications, such as Specflow.
- DevOps and Continue Integration/Continuous Delivery or Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline for continuous testing and validation.
Essential Daily Job Duties
- Provide 2nd Level Engineering support for RMLS.
- Collaborate with agile teams to develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web and mobile applications in alignment with FAA requirements.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing to ensure software reliability, security, and performance in real-time environments.
- Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content.
- Identify and document defects in the issue tracking system (e.g. Jira), track defect status, and work with agile team to ensure timely resolution.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint retrospectives within an Agile team environment.
- Provide feedback on the testing process, suggesting areas of improvement.
- Assist with RMLS troubleshooting and Help Desk Support.
Work Environment
- Full-time position with a standard flexible work schedule and occasional non-standard work hours.
- Occasional travel (less than 5%).
