Job Summary:

DDC ITS is looking for a Satellite Engineer / Commercial Satellite Manager to join our company.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively manage and maintain the Army Centralized ASR System (ACAS) website and database to fulfill SATCOM SAR and ASR requirements.
  • Manage and maintain commercial satellite (COMSAT) bandwidth in all areas outlined by ARCYBER/NETCOM.
  • Work and consult with satellite vendors to obtain COMSAT bandwidth transmission plans (TPs) or make configuration changes to support systems outlined by ARCYBER and NETCOM leadership.
  • Keep the ACAS system accessible for units to request and acquire COMSAT bandwidth for operational and/or training mission support.
  • Develop process flow designs, prepare written reports, and monitor material specifications associated with various SATCOM airtime and ASR related projects and their supporting facilities.
  • Provide program insight and information on specific programs and projects relating to the SATCOM ACAS program.
  • Coordinate between Army entities for planning, scheduling, and de-conflicting SATCOM airtime and/or RHN enterprise service requests.
  • Ensure master scheduling processes are consistent with existing Army requirements, NETCOM requirements, and IAW references in para. 1.23.1.
  • Oversee the execution of SAR and ASR development processes and make changes to ACAS to reflect current process requirements.
  • Plan for and track missions to ensure bandwidth and landing rights (OCONUS only) availability of requested SATCOM airtime and monitor requests to ensure usage is consistent with the fiscal year spending plan.
  • Provide data support to the COR to assist with the development of after-action reports, NETCOM Executive Summaries (EXSUM), and command level quarterly/semi-annual/annual reports.
  • Prepare periodic management and/or customer reports and presentations as assigned by the COR.
  • Monitor the planning and conduct of mobile training missions in support of the SATCOM Airtime Training mission.
  • Prepare and conduct Progress Review Meetings with ARCYBER and NETCOM leadership as assigned by the COR.
  • Recommend new processes for quality improvement, cost reduction, and on-time delivery of SATCOM airtime capabilities to the warfighter.
  • Work with Army Component Commands (COCOMs) regional SATCOM/spectrum manager, area validators, RHN SATCOM Operations personnel, and related SATCOM personnel to ensure existing and new Army systems mission requirements are met.
  • Actively provide user training (remote, onsite) on the system as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience):

  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE certified.
  • Experience in satellite engineering and commercial satellite management.
  • Familiarity with SATCOM SAR and ASR requirements.
  • Ability to manage and maintain COMSAT bandwidth.
  • Experience working with satellite vendors and making configuration changes to TPs.
  • Proficiency in developing process flow designs and preparing written reports.
  • Ability to monitor material specifications associated with SATCOM airtime and ASR related projects.
  • Experience providing program insight and information on SATCOM ACAS programs.
  • Ability to coordinate planning, scheduling, and de-conflicting SATCOM airtime and RHN enterprise service requests.
  • Knowledge of master scheduling processes consistent with Army and NETCOM requirements.
  • Experience overseeing SAR and ASR development processes.
  • Ability to plan and track missions for bandwidth and landing rights availability.
