CACI is seeking a talented and motivated Model Builder to join our team, contributing to critical projects for the U.S. Navy and the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Carderock. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop sophisticated models supporting naval engineering and research initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Key Aspects of the Role:
• Develop models for naval vessels and systems
• Collaborate with Navy personnel and NSWC Carderock engineers
• Work on diverse projects from hull design to propulsion systems
• Apply expertise to solve complex marine engineering challenges
• Utilize cutting-edge modeling techniques
Qualifications:
Required:
• 0-3 years of experience in model building or related field
• Precision in cutting, grinding, sanding, and applying wax and epoxy
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail
• Basic understanding of naval architecture principles
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Desired:
• Experience with naval or maritime modeling
• Familiarity with CAD software and 3D printing
• Knowledge of various model-building materials
• Understanding of hydrodynamics and fluid mechanics
• Trade experience and fiberglass work are a plus

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
