Northrop Grumman's Engineering Manufacturing Systems and Infrastructure (EMSI) group is seeking a qualified Principal Computer Systems Architect to provide support for the Enterprise Distributed Network (EDN) Virtual Infrastructure Environment . This position supports large heterogeneous unclassified computer networks that include VMware Virtualization as the backbone infrastructure and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VD), with an emphasis onstorage systems across multiple engineering and manufacturing environments.
The candidate selected for this position will be required to work on-site one day per week, at one of our following campus locations:
The selected candidate may occasionally be required to work on-site more than one day in any given week, depending on customer and program requirements.

Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Job responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- The maintenance and security compliance of compute (ESXi) and storage hardware at Core Service Hubs (Eastern, Central and Western region).
- Hardware/software installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, repair, monitoring, tuning, vulnerability remediation, and general user support.
- Maintain system documentation, develop infrastructure support procedures, and provide security support.
- Provide tier-2 support for infrastructure and virtualization platforms, manage VMware clusters, and vSphere hosts.
- Conduct administration tasks as required to include patching, updating, hardening, remediation, and management of virtualization environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate's degree with 7 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience; a High School diploma or equivalent with 9 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (ie. VMware, vSphere, vCenter Server, ESXi, vSAN).
- Familiarity with managing and maintaining EXSi host, virtual machines, and resource pools.
- Experience with identifying and the remediation of security vulnerabilities in an ESXi and VCenter environment.
- Experience with configuring remote server management controllers such as iDRAC.
- Experience with Windows and/or Linux Operating Systems.
- Experience with creating and maintaining documentation, developing infrastructure support procedures, and providing security support.
- Ability to work flex hours with some weekend hours expected for maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Containerized Virtual Environments (ie. Kubernetes, Rancher).
- Proficiency with Linux and Windows Operating Systems.
- Experience with large scale storage solutions.
- Current CompTIA Security+ certification.
