System Engineer - STAR 1642
Country Intelligence Group is seeking a Full-Time System Engineer to support our client with end-to-end system engineering, operations, and maintenance (O&M) across mission-critical IT environments. This role supports Sponsor and mission partner networks at multiple sites, enabling technical continuity and system readiness for high-priority mission requirements. The selected candidate will serve as a subject matter expert in delivering complex network and systems engineering solutions, supporting Tier 1–3 troubleshooting, and ensuring operational excellence of enterprise IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a broad understanding of IT systems and network architecture, strong stakeholder coordination skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-organizational environment. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, a commitment to mission success, and the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
Tasks Performed:
• Provide end-to-end system engineering, operations and maintenance (O&M) support to the Sponsor and Sponsor partner mission specific and networks at multiple Sponsor sites.
• Capture IT requirements, identify and deliver complex network architecture solutions per Sponsor’s mission IT requirements.
• Serve as an IT support liaison for Sponsor mission systems and IT requirements.
• Interact with the appropriate stakeholders, including internal and Sponsor partner service providers to fulfill requirements.
• Provide daily troubleshooting to ensure mission IT systems and networks are operational.
• Provide Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 IT support on Sponsor’s mission IT systems and networks.
• Interact with the appropriate service providers to resolve IT systems, connectivity, and network issues.
• Provide onsite mission IT support for servers, and desktops, and account administration.
• Perform data transfer requests.
• Assist with deploying COTS/GOTS applications to meet mission requirements.
• Provide after-hours support if a situation warrants.
• Assist mission partners to obtain the required smartcards, CAC cards, and tokens for mission IT system login.
• Assist partner missions in obtaining security approvals to bring IT hardware, such as, laptops, scanners, or printers.
• Manage and track mission IT asset inventory on all mission IT equipment and maintain up-to-date inventory records.
• Maintain documentation to include location of users, IP address distribution, how to guides, or diagrams.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience providing subject matter level of knowledge, skills, and expertise to end to end system engineering and O&M support.
• Demonstrated experience capturing IT requirements.
• Demonstrated experience identifying and delivering complex network architecture solutions.
• Demonstrated experience working across multiple organizations with competing priorities to resolve IT systems and networks issues, improve system workflow, and provide engineering solutions to meet mission requirements while adhering to security policies and plans.
• Demonstrated experience providing support to facilitate, enable, and drive IT system requirements to fruition.
• Demonstrated experience analyzing the current state of systems and networks ensuring protection and privileges within, identifying future needs, and providing recommendations.
• Demonstrated experience communicating complex technical concepts, requirements, and technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated experience responding to and resolving inquiries regarding software and hardware operation.
• Demonstrated experience with IT service delivery processes. (Preferred)
• Demonstrated experience working in a team environment and with all levels of management. (Preferred)
