Job Title: Engineering Technician II - Facilities Support

Location: Panama City, Florida

Introduction:

Rivet Operations Company is seeking a detail-oriented Engineering Technician II to provide technical drafting and space planning support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD). Rivet is a trusted partner to the Department of Defense, known for delivering mission-critical support across facilities management, engineering, logistics, and technical services.

As a Facilities Engineering Technician, you will use your drafting skills and knowledge of space management systems to maintain and improve NSWC PCD's Master Space Plans and related documentation. This role requires regular coordination with facilities personnel, engineers, and leadership, and plays a vital role in supporting infrastructure readiness and planning efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Prepare, update, and maintain facility space allocation drawings using AUTOCAD® software
* Develop and revise conceptual layouts for executive, modular, and systems furniture configurations in support of planning efforts
* Convert technical drawings into accessible formats such as PDF and JPEG for non-AUTOCAD® users
* Maintain a structured tracking system for all updates to the NSWC PCD Master Space Plans
* Collect field measurements and site data, analyze results, and create accurate as-built drawings
* Generate drawings to support site approval documentation, NAVFAC work requests, engineering sketches, and other related documents
* Maintain an inventory spreadsheet (in Microsoft Excel) tracking reuse-eligible furniture and components
* Support the implementation of space management systems such as ARCHIBUS, including data maintenance and facilities space utilization analysis
* Provide technical input to enhance workspace planning, design efficiency, and real estate optimization

Job Requirements:

Education, Experience, Skills:

* High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field preferred
* 2+ years of experience using AUTOCAD® software in a facilities or architectural environment
* Familiarity with space planning principles, interior layouts, and facilities drawings
* Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
* Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
* Experience with ARCHIBUS or similar space/facility management tools is highly desired
* Ability to collect and interpret field data to support technical drawing creation
* Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain and maintain and active security clearance.

Physical Requirements:

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required. May include lifting to 25 pounds as necessary.
