Program Overview
Peraton provides a secure, worldwide, high-performance communications network comprised of real-time interactive applications operating over a dedicated IP backbone with secure services for complex national and worldwide executive-level communications. Peraton provides the O&M of the network infrastructure and its components, integration for development of hardware and software solutions, and task support for the delivery of system, network, software, and security solutions.
About The Role
Peraton is looking for a Lead Senior Systems Engineer, in Alexandria, VA, responsible for supporting a large, classified, unified communications system and for providing technical leadership. The system is a multi-level security, unified communication system, providing critical services including Voice over IP (VoIP), Video Teleconferencing (VTC), Audio Visual (AV) communication, and electronic document distribution. The candidate must be an experienced multi-disciplined individual with lifecycle experience in information system development through operations. The position requires breadth and depth of knowledge related to design, software, networking, and information assurance and cyber security. The Lead Senior Systems Engineer performs technical planning, system design, and cost and risk analyses.

Details
Target Salary Range: $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
- Develops requirements specifications, top-level system designs, interface specifications, technical roadmaps/strategies, risk mitigation approaches, and transition strategies in support of system/program goals
- Collaborates with senior decision makers and other stakeholders in a highly dynamic environment to refine/improve solutions leading to rapidly fielded operational capabilities
- Evaluates and applies government cybersecurity (DoD, NIST, FIPS, and NSA) policies and instructions
- Applies advanced knowledge and skills to develop and champion new ideas and technologies and to solve highly complex problems with significant program impact
- Interacts internally with management and customers on significant business matters. Assignments are often self-initiated
Qualifications
Required:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance required.
- Strong technical background in engineering or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated track record of providing actionable, innovative solutions based on rigorous analysis and application of science, engineering, procurement and other skills to customer problems.
- Ability to research problems and develop solutions and summarize findings both written and orally. Excellent ability to communicate to a variety of audiences and to work with people with disparate backgrounds in a highly dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of enterprise IT planning and migration
- Familiar with Cisco Systems and VoIP solutions
- Experience with technical writing
- Strong organizational skills
- Familiarity with DoD IA requirements, hardening, and patching (STIGs, IAVA/B, ACAS/HBSS/SCAP)
Desired certifications:
- 01M-compliant security certification (CompTIA Security+, CCNA-Security, etc)
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Ability to organize resources and work collaboratively to meet multiple team objectives
- Interact closely with customer representatives on highly advanced technical issues
- Explain and present high-level technical subjects and processes related to assignments
- Independently compose and deliver reports and presentations of the highest professional quality
- Design entire networks or portions of networks that include selection of hardware and software packages
Education and Relevant Experience:
- 7+ years with Doctorate
- 10+ years with Masters
- 12+ years with Bachelors
- Four years of additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
