The Security Technician II is responsible for managing visitor access to the Aberdeen Test Center Restricted Area (RA) by processing, screening, and badging all visitors. This role ensures compliance with security protocols, manages access control systems, and maintains accurate records while providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and verify visitor requests via DISS and fax and maintain the visitor access database.
Manage the Visitor Control mailbox and respond to access requests in coordination with ATC points of contact.
Verify visitor security clearances and eligibility for RA access.
Create and issue RA access badges and support CAC enrollments for RA and building access.
Follow all procedures outlined in the ATC Visitor Control Center Internal Operating Procedure (IOP).
Open and operate the Visitor Control Center daily from 0630 to 1600 (Monday–Thursday) and until 1500 on Fridays.
Maintain accurate access logs and provide professional customer service to all visitors.
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in a security environment or Associate’s Degree in a security-related field.
Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately manage records.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with access control systems and visitor management software.
Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or emergency situations.
Familiarity with card readers, biometric systems, and access control technologies.
Active Secret Clearance.
