Job Description
The Enterprise Architect will serve as an architecture and system design engineer. Effective architecture begins with a deep understanding of requirements and customer needs and matches them with technology and processes aligned with architecture principles. The Enterprise Architect will be involved with efforts to include high level system design, prototyping, proofs of concept, and future state architecture solutioning. The successful candidate will work closely with technical leaders, program leads, and solution engineers to ensure best practices and effective engineering when modernizing and delivering the solution.
The ideal candidate will be capable of assisting with reviewing, analyzing, and validating initial stakeholder requests, evaluating technologies, and providing feedback and guidance on solution design. The candidate will work across teams, providing design context to help define and deliver solution capabilities. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of technology and significant hands-on experience building and implementing solutions to demonstrate functionality along with developing supporting documentation. They will have significant hands-on experience developing production solutions, and motivation to explore problems to find creative solutions and grow existing skillsets.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain high level system design artifacts (i.e., plans, designs, workflows)
Translate customer requirements into operational solutions aligned with program policies and vision
Work across teams to develop engineering plans, guide implementations, and inform engineering decision making
Research, evaluate, and build test cases for current and future system capabilities
Provide analysis, presentations, and demonstrations of current and future capabilities
Support cross team efforts to build capacity and financial plans
Qualifications:
Active Top-Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise architecture, system development, or a related field.
Experience with laboratory information management solutions.
Experience with various infrastructure systems and applications to include Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, Hyper-V, Citrix, WSUS, BigFix, NetApp, Dell Unity, Dell Avamar, etc.
2+ years delivering technical solutions for government customers
1+ years translating requirements into high level system designs
1+ years designing and implementing data management technologies
1+ years producing technical documentation to communicate system designs and technological analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with scientific instrument technologies
Experience with DevSecOps / Agile methodologies
Experience with virtualized environments including applications, clustered hosting solutions, and a dispersed physical footprint
Experience in assessment, evaluation, and documentation of client environment, infrastructure, process, operations
Experience in data modeling, visualization, metric dashboards, and other reporting systems
