Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Juniper Network Engineer who will support a government contract in Ft. Meade, MD.
Responsibilities for the Juniper Network Engineer:
· Serve as SME on Juniper products and technologies.
· Understand the customer's organizational structure, become familiar with customer's network implementation, and support procedures and help drive to the highest level of network availability.
· Carry out testing of new designs, features, and functionality in a laboratory environment and help develop implementation plans to ensure proper operation in live production network.
· Validate patches and fixes to operating system software that ensure they are implemented and functioning correctly in pre-production, test, and live networks.
· Troubleshoot equipment and network problems and initiate and track JTAC cases through to problem resolution.
· Produce written summary reports of design projects, equipment, and network problems on a regular basis to the customer.
· Hold network information gathering workshops with the customer to understand their existing network design and technical requirements for new network deployments.
· Train the customer's design, implementation, and support personnel to configure and operate their Juniper Networks products.
Qualifications for the Juniper Network Engineer:
· DoD Secret Clearance
· Minimum 5 years experience providing implementation and technical support of networking products in Internet Service Provider environments.
· Detailed technical experience in the installation and operation of routers, switches, and firewalls. This includes hands-on operation of management tools and network analyzers.
· Detailed understanding of the service provider protocols surrounding IP networks (TCP/IP, RSVP, Segment Routing, etc.).
· Experience in network routing protocol troubleshooting (BGP, IS-IS, and MPLS).
· Experience in Service Provider backbone VPN technologies (L2VPN, L3VPN, EVPN, pseudowire, etc.)

Compensation for the Juniper Network Engineer:
- $160,000 - $230,000 *Depending on Experience.
- Cigna Medical, dental, vision, Holidays, 401k, PTO and Sick leave as required by law
