Position Description
Serco is seeking a Principal Intelligence Analyst to join our team in Suffolk, VA, supporting the Joint Staff J7, Joint Training, Deployable Training Division (DTD). In this role, you will be part of a Deployable Training Team (DTT), providing operational and strategic-level observation, training, and feedback to Combatant Commands, Joint Task Forces, and multinational partners to enhance joint operational effectiveness and readiness.
This role involves travel and requires deep expertise in joint intelligence functions and experience supporting strategic and operational planning, joint exercises, and staff development.

In this role, you will:
- Serve on Deployable Training Teams observing and training Combatant Command and Joint Task Force staff.
- Identify operational-level challenges and develop insights, best practices, and lessons learned.
- Analyze trends and processes supporting the commander's decision cycle and operational planning.
- Conduct in-depth research on strategic documents, operational environments, and command plans.
- Deliver cross-functional analysis for training assessments and after-action reviews.
- Act as a subject matter expert and trainer in intelligence-related functions during joint and multinational exercises.
- Develop operational-level reports including FAARs, Executive Summaries, Functional Reports, and input into the Joint Lessons Learned Information System (JLLIS).
- Facilitate seminars for senior leader education programs and support joint doctrine and concept development.
- Support new team members through mentorship and knowledge transfer.
- Maintain and update published materials on joint operations insights and best practices.
Qualifications
One of the following education and experience combinations:
- Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of professional and/or military leadership experience; or
- Master's degree with at least 8 years of professional and/or military leadership experience.
- Understanding of the Joint Intelligence enterprise and operational planning processes.
- Knowledge of how joint staffs support the commander's decision cycle.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%, including to hazardous duty areas.
- Active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
- Ability to work on-site in Suffolk, VA.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience with operational-level planning and staff training.
- Ability to conduct strategic-level analysis and synthesize complex information.
- Strong writing and presentation skills for operational documentation and briefings.
Additional desired experience and skills:
- Familiarity with joint functions such as Intelligence, Fires, Cyberspace, Sustainment, and C2.
- Staff experience at Combatant Commands, Joint Task Forces, or similar.
- Completion of Joint Forces Staff College or service equivalent.
- Experience preparing senior leader seminars and operational plans.
- Background in delivering after-action reviews and lessons learned documentation.
