Position Description

Serco is seeking a Network Communications Manager 1 to lead our Network Support Team (NST) in support of the Army National Guard (ARNG) Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP) at Gowen Field in Boise, Idaho. In this key role, you will manage the communications infrastructure and provide essential support for the execution of complex military training exercises, ensuring secure and reliable network performance across the installation.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead the NST to design, implement, and support the network architecture for exercise operations.
  • Develop and execute communications plans to support training exercises.
  • Configure communication equipment, assist in installation, and support network infrastructure.
  • Implement cybersecurity protocols and ensure network systems comply with DoD policies.
  • Coordinate with the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and Information System Security Manager (ISSM) to maintain the Authority to Operate (ATO) under RMF.


Qualifications

Qualifications
  • One of the following:
    • Bachelor's degree in Network Management or related field with at least 8 years of network architecture experience.
    • Master's degree in Network Management or related field with at least 6 years of network architecture experience.
  • Experience in:
    • Advanced troubleshooting and maintenance of Microsoft server platforms.
    • Cisco router, switch, and firewall configuration.
    • SONET configuration/architecture.
    • RMF Assess and Authorize processes and cybersecurity compliance.
    • Technologies including Cisco, Fujitsu, Hewlett Packard, and Tripwire.
  • Must obtain IAT Level II Certification within 180 days of hire.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN integration, firewall configuration, security policies, storage, and backup systems.
  • Ability to move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and support extended work hours for training events.
  • Must be able to work on-site at Gowen Field in Boise, Idaho, and travel up to 25% as required.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Leadership experience in a network support or network engineering environment.
  • Proficiency in secure network design and cybersecurity practices.
  • Ability to coordinate technical requirements across multiple teams in a high-tempo training environment.

Additional desired experience and skills:
  • CompTIA certifications such as Security+, Network+, and A+.
  • Vendor certifications including CCNA, Windows Server, and Red Hat Linux.
