Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and analytical Economist I to support research and analysis efforts related to economic issues involving the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services, as well as fiscal and monetary policy. This entry-level role is ideal for early-career professionals and recent graduates who want to apply their economics training in a practical settin g.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:
  • Assist in conducting economic research and data analysis to examine current trends, policy impacts, or market conditions.
  • Prepare summaries, charts, and reports to present findings clearly and effectively.
  • Collect, organize, and process economic and statistical data using appropriate sampling techniques and econometric methods.
  • Support the development of economic models or forecasts under the supervision of more senior staff.
  • Perform literature reviews and assist in preparing background material for economic reports or briefings.
  • Help formulate plans and recommendations based on economic data and policy analysis.
  • Contribute to team discussions and assist in the preparation of presentations or client deliverables.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
  • Basic understanding of economic principles, micro/macro theory, and econometric techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with statistical software (e.g., R, Stata, SAS, or Python).
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow guidance from senior staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Economics, Public Policy, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Direct experience with finance for an HQ level military entity 3 yrs experience working for or supporting the National Guard Bureau
  • At a minimum, a favorably adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) or an equivalent or higher investigation.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with economic modeling, cost-benefit analysis, or impact assessments.
  • Exposure to public policy, regulatory analysis, or economic forecasting.

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $68,000 - $105,000 annually.
