We are looking for you to join our team as a Manager of Manufacturing Continuous Improvement based at our Sunnyvale, CA campus.

What You'll Get To Do:

The Manufacturing Continuous Improvement Manager will lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives across our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will champion lean methodologies, implement process improvements, and foster a culture of operational excellence to improve productivity, efficiency, and quality. The manager will collaborate cross-functionally with teams in design engineering, quality engineering, program management, production, etc to align improvement efforts with business priorities. Additionally, this role will use data to identify bottlenecks, drive change to reduce waste and improve quality, then track improvements and measure ROI.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and execution of the continuous improvement strategy in alignment with business goals.
  • Facilitate lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives, including value stream mapping, 5S, kaizen events, and root cause analysis.
  • Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies, schedule and cost saving opportunities, and area for process optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Monitor KPIs and track ROI.
  • Train, mentor, and guide staff on CI tools and methodologies to build internal capabilities.
  • Drive change management and user adoption across all levels.
  • Administer and oversee technical program/project execution by managing scope, tasks/schedules/cost projections for all projects.


Basic Qualifications for the Manager of Manufacturing Continuous Improvement :
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant project management experience; OR a Master's Degree with a minimum of 6 years relevant project management experience; OR 12 years of relevant project management experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with a focus on continuous improvement, lean, or Six Sigma.
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams or projects
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, optimization, and automation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • US Citizenship required.


Preferred Qualifications for the Manager of Manufacturing Continuous Improvement:
  • 2+ years experience managing a team of 5+ members (direct or matrixed reports).
  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing systems such as MES, MRP & ERP.
  • Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams.


Salary Range: $154,600.00 - $231,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
