AGL, an Akima company, is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Senior Design Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team of design engineers and CAD operators. This role is responsible for driving the development of high-quality, scalable, and cost-effective designs from concept through production. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise, strong leadership, and strategic vision to deliver exceptional products and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of design engineers across multiple projects and disciplines.
  • Design small, medium & large-scale security projects for a Government customer
  • Oversee the end-to-end design process, including concept development, testing, and design validation.
  • Design security systems under compliance of policies, standards and requirements
  • Apply principles, standards, guidelines for complying with operational standards
  • Develop schedules and manage the overall cost of the design of multiple projects at once to stay within budget and on time
  • Communicate with senior and mid-level management on the development, implementation and monitoring of day-today security practices in support of customer
  • Develop weekly reports for upper management
  • Manage resource planning, project timelines, and budgets to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Mentor junior design engineers and provide training on design standards on a day-to-day basis
  • Conduct surveys, cost estimations, proposals across the entire security services effort to include CONUS & US territory sites

Qualifications

  • Active Top-Secret clearance.
  • 10 years of design engineering experience of specifically with security equipment/systems
  • Proven track record of leading complex product development projects from concept to launch.
  • Strong background in technical security systems, perimeter protection, or physical security infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience working with Software House/CCURE, IP Cameras, Intrusion Detection Systems, Access Control Systems, CCTV, and turnstiles
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in MicroSoft Office products, CAD, Maximo Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Cost Point, Deltek
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Background in technical security systems, perimeter protection, or physical security infrastructure.
