TEKsystems is seeking a VMware/VDI Systems Administrator to manage and optimize a complex virtualized infrastructure with a strong emphasis on OpenShift and VMware Cloud Foundation. The role involves supporting secure, multi-zoned lab environments, implementing VDI solutions, and ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards. The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player with deep technical expertise and a passion for delivering reliable, scalable systems.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct customer service and technical support to local and remote users as required via phone, e-mail, on-line systems and in person.
- Perform implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management.
- Manages a VMware vSphere Infrastructure and Horizon VDI environment in support of several labs within a multi-zoned environment.
- Manages the functionality of servers and computers running Windows/Linux operating systems such as (RHEL, CentOS, Windows 10, Windows Server) within an Active Directory environment.
- Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems.
- Assist in creation and maintenance of system documentation such as SOPs and policies.
- Implementing Information Assurance (IA) systems and practices such as DISA STIGs, RMF and system hardening.
- Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
- Provides advice and training to end-users.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
Requirements:
- Active Secret clearance
- CompTIA Security+ce
- Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience OR 10+ years of equivalent experience
- OpenShift Infrastructure & VMware Cloud Foundation – Experience in deploying, managing, and troubleshooting OpenShift clusters and integrating with VMware environments.
- Cybersecurity Compliance (DISA STIGs, RMF) – Strong understanding and hands-on experience implementing DoD cybersecurity standards and hardening systems accordingly.
