Position Description

Customer requires a Korean translator/interpreter with three years minimum of work as a professional translator and/or interpreter within the last seven years, or a recently completed MA degree in Translation and/or Interpretation. Most recent experience should be between 2020 and 2025. Position requires a 40 hour work week as a full-time linguist with 10% travel.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen and provide a copy of your U.S. Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate.

• B.A./B.S. in language relevant field
• Must have some experience in interpreting/translating science and technology.
• Must have consecutive note taking and public speaking experience.
• 3+ years of recent relevant experience (between 2020 and 2025) to include:
  • Interpretation
  • Review and revise written products for correctness of written expression.
  • Review and revise products for accuracy and completeness of information and written expression.
  • Summarize pertinent details of text or recorded material in an easily digestible format.
  • Sorting documents and material by importance and determining how they should be processed/routed.
  • Assigning tasks to others and following up to make sure tasks are completed on time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional translation and/or interpretation certifications (ATA, FCICE, CHI/CMI, etc.)
• Professional Association Memberships (ATA, AIIC, TAALS, NAJIT, IAPTI, NCIHC, etc.)

1. Must pass language testing with ILR 3 in translation (CM>EN), interpretation test, and speaking, listening, reading, and interpretation.
