Foxhole Technology is seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Administrator to support a government customer in a secure, mission-critical environment. This position involves managing and securing enterprise IT systems, overseeing system configuration, and ensuring operational stability across multiple domains. The ideal candidate brings hands-on technical experience, a strong grasp of DoD cybersecurity standards, and the ability to guide junior team members.

Job Description

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and/or Linux-based servers and related enterprise services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Apply and enforce DoD cybersecurity compliance standards, including STIGs, IAVM directives, and patch management processes.
• Administer updates, antivirus software, and security configurations across classified and unclassified networks.
• Create and maintain accurate system documentation, including configuration guides, diagrams, and SOPs.
• Act as Tier III escalation point for complex issues, collaborating with cybersecurity, networking, and application support teams.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies.
• Support RMF control implementation, assist in artifact generation, and contribute to system ATO/IATT efforts.
• Monitor systems using enterprise tools to detect and respond to anomalies, performance degradation, and vulnerabilities.
• Assist with disaster recovery, continuity of operations (COOP), and system backup initiatives.
• Integrate and support cybersecurity solutions such as HBSS, ACAS, and SIEM tools.
• Provide mentorship to junior administrators and contribute technical guidance to system-related projects.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance with Eligibility for TS.
• Minimum of 8+ years of experience as a System Administrator
• Must have a current DoD 8140/(8570) IAT Level II approved certification (i.e. CompTIA Security+ CE)
• Proficient in Windows Server and/or Linux systems administration
• Experience with Active Directory, DNS, GPOs, and PowerShell scripting
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V
• Hands-on experience with STIG implementation, RMF processes, and eMASS documentation
• Knowledge of tools such as HBSS, ACAS, Nessus, and Splunk
• Strong skills in troubleshooting, system documentation, and cross-team communication
• Understanding of network services as related to Microsoft Windows environment (e.g. DNS, Firewalls, Routers, etc.)
• Strong customer interaction skills with users of all levels
• Effective written and interpersonal communication
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skill

Desired Experience/Certifications

• Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA), Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or similar certifications.
• Experience supporting systems in classified DoD environments.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes, change management, and configuration control.
• Understanding of cloud-based services, virtualization, and system automation tools (e.g., Ansible, SCCM).

At Foxhole Technology, we are committed to pay transparency as required by law, for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $85,000-$98,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors as permitted by law.
