ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Additive Manufacturing Subject Matter Expert to join our teamThis is a fully remote position. Must be in the Lexington Park, MD area due to proximity to of Patuxent River Naval Base.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Develop training for fleet operators and Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Instructors and instruct Sailors and Marines in the operation of equipment.
  • Provide Additive Manufacturing (AM) SME Support to the AM 550 work centers.
  • Provide recommendations and updates to maintenance policies and procedures including Naval Air Systems Command Instructions (NAVAIRINST), Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), and Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP).
  • Review and provide recommended updates to training materials for fleet operators and NAVAIR Instructors, including Naval Aviation School for Additive Manufacturing (NASAM) Schoolhouse curriculum.
  • Oversee vendor delivery and training.
  • Provide engineering support for parts solicitation visits.
  • Network with DOD, active-duty military, academia and industry to advocate for AM and NAVAIR capabilities.
  • Instruct Sailors and Marines in the operation of AM equipment in accordance with NAVAIR and NAVSEA published instructions.
  • CONUS and OCONUS travel as needed


Minimum Qualifications:
  • 6+ years' experience of resident knowledge of Fleet Maintenance operations
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense/Department of the Navy (DOD/DON) policy; drafting recommendations for implementation of Advance Manufacturing
  • Knowledge of NAVAIR and Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) published instructions for the operation of AM equipment.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • B.S degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related curriculum
  • Experience with Maintenance Policy Procedures from NAVAIRINST, SOP, and NAMP, including the Individual Material Requirements List (IMRL) and Individual Component Repair List (ICRL).
  • Ability to Network with DOD, active military, academia and industry to advocate or Additive Manufacturing and NAVAIR capabilities


Clearance Requirements:
  • Must have a current and active Secret Security Clearance


Physical Requirements:
  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations
  • Must be able to travel OCONUS
