Tyto Athene is searching for a Junior Network Administrator to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.
The Junior Network Administrator provides basic triage and support for network issues. Conducts hands-on support for the day-to-day operation of Cisco and Aruba-based network environments. This entry-level role supports secure communications, assists in implementing access control policies (including 802.1X and CyberArk), and contributes to the DoD's Zero Trust framework (Thunderdome).

Tyto Athene is searching for a Junior Network Administrator to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.
The Junior Network Administrator provides basic triage and support for network issues. Conducts hands-on support for the day-to-day operation of Cisco and Aruba-based network environments. This entry-level role supports secure communications, assists in implementing access control policies (including 802.1X and CyberArk), and contributes to the DoD's Zero Trust framework (Thunderdome).
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure including switches, routers, and wireless systems
- Assist with configuration and troubleshooting of of networking devices such as switches, routers, and access points, verifying they are functioning according to established policies.
- Document network topology and maintain inventory of hardware and IP assignments
- Support the setup and enforcement of 802.1X access control
- Assist in managing privileged account credentials using CyberArk
- Support patching, compliance scanning, and basic remediation activities
- Participate in network upgrades, deployments, and cabling activities
- Work with senior engineers to learn Thunderdome and Zero Trust principles
- Perform basic network testing and analysis using standard tools
- Respond to Tier-1 help desk tickets related to connectivity issues and collaborate with Tier III and III as required
Required:
- Associate's degree in Information Technology, Network Administration, or a related field
- 0-3 years of experience supporting network infrastructure or IT operations
- Basic knowledge of: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing/switching, and network topologies, Cisco or Aruba network equipment, Network cabling, patching, and troubleshooting Layer 1-3 issues
- Exposure to tools such as SolarWinds, or equivalent
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and respond to on-call tasks
Desired:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
- Exposure to 802.1X, CyberArk, or network access control tools
- Familiarity with Aruba ClearPass, Cisco ISE, or Zero Trust concepts
- Awareness of DoD STIGs, RMF, and network security best practices
- Experience supporting geographically dispersed users or DoD mission systems
Clearance:
- TS/SCI clearance required
Certification:
- DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role
- CompTIA Security+ CE
- Cisco Certified Network Associate

- Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
