Contract Position
$53.56-$60.70/Hour
Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. As a prime mover in ground force capabilities, this firm provides innovative solutions that ensure the safety and effectiveness of military personnel worldwide, focusing on durability, mobility, and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, integration, and testing of embedded software systems supporting Cybersecurity and C5ISR for ground combat platforms.
- Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical principles to embedded software development.
- Collaborate across hardware/software teams to define performance and system interface requirements.
- Participate in the complete software development lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, integration, and testing.
- Develop tools, scripts, and XML configurations for verification and automation.
- Ensure software applications meet cybersecurity and configuration control standards.
- Design message protocol transformations to enable cross-domain data sharing.
- Work within a Security-Enhanced Linux environment using multiple programming languages.
- Conduct peer reviews, defect tracking, and participate in RCCA activities for troubleshooting.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging Cyber and C5ISR technologies for future platforms.
- Manage trade studies and structured decision-making for system-level architecture design.
- Contribute to milestone documentation and ensure compliance with contract technical deliverables.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or another STEM field from an ABET-accredited institution. Cyber certifications may also be considered.
- Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one upon hire.
- Experience:
- 3+ years in embedded software development preferred.
- Proficiency in C, C++, C#, Java, or Rust in embedded systems.
- Hands-on experience with Linux or VxWorks operating systems and BSPs.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity in embedded environments; CISSP or CEH is a plus.
- Familiarity with low-level device driver programming and reverse engineering.
- Experience across full software lifecycle from architecture to test.
- Working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (SELinux a plus).
- Experience using IDEs, version control, defect tracking tools, and scripting.
- Understanding of electrical LRUs and hardware/software integration in military systems.
- Strong grasp of software and computer science principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as needed.
- Must meet anthropometric size requirements for vehicle access (e.g., hatches, confined spaces).
