Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) – TS/SCI Required

Salary: $150,000 - $300,000 negotiable DOE
Overview:
We are actively recruiting Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to support a newly awarded contract at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio, supporting the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC). These high-impact roles require immediate readiness, on-site availability in Dayton, OH, and active TS/SCI clearance at time of application.
These roles involve prototyping, enhancing, and managing advanced geospatial data tools and analytics in support of national security and defense intelligence missions. All roles will involve significant software development or usage components, so experience in GIS software, coding, and geospatial data processing is essential.
Open Positions (All Require GEOINT Expertise + Software Experience):
1. Geospatial Data & Tools Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
• Prototype and manage geospatial data sources
• Integrate and enhance geospatial datasets and tools
• Optimize data ingestion and spatial data pipelines
• Work closely with software and intelligence teams
Preferred Qualifications:
• Expertise in ArcGIS, GDAL, QGIS, or similar
• Experience with Python, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, or JavaScript
• Familiarity with GEOINT standards and data formats (e.g., NITF, SHP, GeoJSON)
2. Geospatial Data Analyst / Tool Developer
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and apply novel geospatial data analysis techniques
• Leverage automated and semi-automated tools to extract insights
• Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to improve tool efficiency
Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong background in data science, spatial statistics, or imagery analysis
• Skilled in Python (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy), R, or MATLAB
• Experience working with large-scale geospatial datasets
3. Geospatial Visualization Specialist
Key Responsibilities:
• Create static and interactive maps, graphics, and dashboards
• Translate complex data and intelligence findings into visual narratives
• Use visualization platforms to support real-time intelligence operations
Preferred Qualifications:
• Expertise with visualization libraries (D3.js, Leaflet, Deck.gl)
• Experience using ESRI StoryMaps, Tableau, or Power BI for geospatial data
• Knowledge of UI/UX best practices in data visualization
4. GIS Software Engineer / Tool Prototyper
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain custom GIS tools and plugins
• Enhance performance and usability of geospatial software applications
• Integrate multiple data sources into cohesive analysis platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficient in Python, JavaScript, or C++
• Experience with custom plugin development for ArcGIS or QGIS
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and DevSecOps in secure environments
Minimum Requirements (All Roles):
• U.S. Citizenship
• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geography, Computer Science, GIS, Remote Sensing, or related field
• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience (SME level)
• Current residence in or near Dayton, OH highly preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work full-time on-site at WPAFB
