Position Summary:
The Senior Systems Administrator ensures the stable and efficient operation of in-house computer systems, network infrastructure, and software environments. Responsibilities include planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing all networked software systems and communication links to support business operations.

Job Description:
• Lead the configuration, administration, and ongoing support of >400 AWS GovCloud and on-prem systems, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.
• Analyze and resolve complex software, hardware, and connectivity incidents for end users, escalating only when necessary.
• Conduct regular system-performance reviews and capacity-planning exercises; recommend configuration changes, upgrades, or migrations that align with program SLAs and organizational goals.
• Design and maintain high-availability application-networking components—including load balancers, autoscaling groups, DNS fail-over, and clustering—to meet zero-data-loss RPO/RTO targets.
• Leverage infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation/Terraform), Ansible, AWS Systems Manager, and custom Bash/PowerShell scripts to automate builds, patches, and evidence collection.
• Perform ongoing vulnerability assessments, patch management, DISA STIG hardening, and security baselining to sustain compliance with RMF, CCRI, and SSAE 18 SOC 1 control objectives.
• Gather, curate, and map logs and ticket evidence to SOC 1 control objectives; brief external auditors and support the Business Systems Analyst–Lead during audit-readiness activities.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, administration playbooks, training materials, and skills-assessment rubrics.
• Provide end-user training and technical guidance to maximize effective system utilization across multiple operational locations.
• Deliver remote and on-site maintenance support—including application deployments, server installations, and major version upgrades—at DLA field sites as needed.
• Offer strategic infrastructure recommendations to program leadership, balancing performance, cost, security, and audit requirements.
• Supervise and mentor junior system administrators, setting daily priorities, reviewing work quality, and fostering professional growth.

Qualifications (Must Haves):
Must possess at least an active Secret Clearance
• Must possess a DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification or higher: Category IAT Level I (i.e., CompTIA A+, CompTIA Net+, SSCP, CCNA Security)

• Must have ten (10) years of specialized experience in Information Processing, with a strong focus on diverse hardware and software environments—This includes at least four (4) years of direct, hands-on experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting software systems
