Tyto Athene is searching for a Senior AV Engineer to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.
The Senior AV Engineer Develops, integrates, and maintains enterprise audiovisual (AV) solutions to support USSOUTHCOM's command, control, and collaboration needs. This role provides Tier IV escalation support, oversees AV projects from conception to implementation, and ensures alignment with DoD standards, mission requirements, and cyber compliance. The Senior AV Engineer also advises leadership on AV strategy, emerging technology adoption, and future-state planning.

Tyto Athene is searching for a Senior AV Engineer to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.
The Senior AV Engineer Develops, integrates, and maintains enterprise audiovisual (AV) solutions to support USSOUTHCOM's command, control, and collaboration needs. This role provides Tier IV escalation support, oversees AV projects from conception to implementation, and ensures alignment with DoD standards, mission requirements, and cyber compliance. The Senior AV Engineer also advises leadership on AV strategy, emerging technology adoption, and future-state planning.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, configure, and sustain AV infrastructure, including video conferencing, production support, and collaboration technologies for mission-critical operations
- Conducts system performance monitoring, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to optimize functionality and support seamless, interoperable communication
- Provides engineering services for AV enhancements, integrating new technologies and consulting with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experts to resolve complex AV issues
- Executes lifecycle management of AV systems, aligning operations with disaster recovery, cybersecurity, and continuity of operations (COOP) strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (network, facilities, cybersecurity) to integrate AV systems into secure environments
- Maintain compliance with DoD security controls and AV equipment accreditation requirements
- Develop standard operating procedures, engineering diagrams, and technical documentation
- Mentor junior AV personnel and coordinate vendor support during installations or upgrades
- Evaluate and recommend new AV technologies to support mission effectiveness
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in electronics, AV engineering, or a related technical field
- 10+ years of experience designing and supporting AV/VTC infrastructure in enterprise or government environments
- Extensive knowledge of AV system architecture, signal flow, control systems, and audio processing
- Experience with DoD AV environments, SCIF setups, and classified communication rooms
Desired
- Familiarity with DISA-approved AV and collaboration tools
- Experience supporting AV/VTC in SCIF or SIPR environments
- Project management experience or PMP certification
- ITIL Foundation for service delivery
- Microsoft Certified: Teams Administrator Associate
Clearance:
- Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
Certification:
- DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role
- CompTIA Security+ CE
- Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) or AV manufacturer certifications
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher
