Tyto Athene is searching for a Senior C2IP Alternate COMSEC Manager to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.
The Senior C2IP Alternate COMSEC Manager supports the secure handling, storage, distribution, and accountability of Communications Security (COMSEC) materials in accordance with NSA and DoD regulations. Serving as the deputy to the Primary COMSEC Manager, this role ensures continuity and compliance in all cryptographic operations, especially during the absence or unavailability of the primary COMSEC Manager.

Tyto Athene is searching for a Senior C2IP Alternate COMSEC Manager to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.
The Senior C2IP Alternate COMSEC Manager supports the secure handling, storage, distribution, and accountability of Communications Security (COMSEC) materials in accordance with NSA and DoD regulations. Serving as the deputy to the Primary COMSEC Manager, this role ensures continuity and compliance in all cryptographic operations, especially during the absence or unavailability of the primary COMSEC Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Alternate COMSEC Account Manager for C2IP-related programs and operations.
- Maintain strict accountability and inventory of COMSEC materials using the Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) or KMI.
- Ensure compliance with National Security Agency (NSA), DoD, and Service Component policies regarding the handling, distribution, safeguarding, and destruction of COMSEC material.
- Assist in audits, inspections, and spot-checks to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Support cryptographic keying operations, including key generation, key loading, and key destruction.
- Train and certify Local Element (LE) personnel and other COMSEC users in proper handling procedures.
- Respond to and report COMSEC incidents and compromises according to established reporting procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and emergency action plans (EAPs).
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience supporting DoD communication systems, with at least 3 years in a COMSEC-related position
- Familiarity with EKMS/KMI operations and procedures
- Experience working in a high-tempo classified environment with responsibility for cryptographic material.
Desired:
- Master's degree in related filed
- Project Management Professional or equivalent leadership training
- Experience with tools such as ServiceNow, or other DoD-approved ticketing systems
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms
- Experience supporting Joint or multi-domain C2 environments
- ITIL v4 Foundation or higher
- DAU Cybersecurity Fundamentals or COMSEC Manager Training
- CISSP or CASP+
Clearance:
- TS/SCI clearance required
Certification:
- DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role
- CompTIA Security+ CE
- COMSEC Custodian Certification

- Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
