KBR's National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country's most critical role - protecting our national security.

KBR is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services focused on protection of mission systems in Australia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Directly contribute to government's mission success through comprehensive analysis, thought leadership and proactive action on mission protection activities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external entities for activities associated with site and mission inspections and report findings and recommendations.
  • Coordinate and support assessment of mission essential functions.
  • Support Weapons and Tactics teams by assessing current and emerging threats; contribute to space protection doctrine, strategies, plans, architectures, and associated requirements; provide vetted analysis and recommendations to improve space protection architectures and capabilities; develop threat mitigation tactics, techniques, and procedures. Train operations personnel on threat mitigation.
  • Monitor and evaluate war games and exercises (as requested), capture and assess lessons learned for best practice implementation to further improve space protection efforts.
  • Define solutions for broad, abstract topics, succinctly capture risk and issues for the customer and provides analysis and recommendations.
  • Review documentation, represent government as required in forums that support streamlined delivery of new capabilities and standardization of integration efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) or relevant field, and nine (9) years or more relevant experience; Masters in STEM or relevant field, and seven (7) years or more relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of satellite constellations, spacecraft orbit, and ground station characteristics.
  • In-depth knowledge of satellite operations and satellite components (bus and payload) and associated ground systems and related mission protection topics.
  • Knowledge of orbital mechanics; analyzes and readily articulates pros/cons of orbital changes.
  • Self-starter, reputation for successfully anticipating and proactively addressing customer requirements with minimal supervision; ability to manage multiple tasks and deliverables.
  • Polished communicator (written/verbal) with impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment; master at collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders.
  • Superior data management/data visualization skills and use of appropriate tools.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team, operate effectively with contractor, SETA, FFRDC, and Government teammates.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Systems Tool Kit (STK).


Desired:
  • Familiar with Digital Engineering/MBSE, AGILE development, cloud technologies.
  • Real-time operations experience as a spacecraft or ground systems operator.
  • Successful record of project management experience with delivered systems.
