SUMMARY USSOUTHCOM's mission is to deter aggression, defeat threats, rapidly respond to crises, and build regional capacity, working with its allies, Partner Nations (PNs), and Government team members to enhance security and defend the U.S. homeland and its national interests, including the force protection of U.S. military resources across the AOR and ensuring the defense of the Panama Canal. USSOUTHCOM has an enduring need for the implementation and sustainment of cyber and data-informed enterprise Information Technology (IT) services to enable and conduct globally integrated combined joint operations throughout the AOR.
The United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) J6 (Command, Control, Communications, and Computers/Cyber Directorate) is responsible for the development, implementation, operation, maintenance, and security of communication systems to enable the command and its subordinate elements to exercise full Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) capabilities in the execution of its as assigned missions. The warfighter (i.e., strategic, operational, and tactical) requires advanced, secure, and interoperable IT that effectively supports the complex demands of the modern battlefield. USSOUTHCOM requires outcome-based, seamless, and interoperable cyber and data-informed enterprise IT services to execute its strategic, operational, and tactical objectives.
