Job Description:
TEKsystems is seeking a Systems/Network Engineer in Dahlgren, VA. The role involves maintaining multiple computing environments by identifying network requirements, installing upgrades, monitoring network performance, and managing network configuration consistency. The Systems/Network Engineer will provide engineering, design, and implementation solutions for multiple network architectures.
Responsibilities:
• Implement local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data networks.
• Configure network routers and switches, including Artysen, Cisco, Mellanox, and Asante switches.
• Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and system performance.
• Perform network modeling and analysis.
• Define diagrams and designs for business technology initiatives.
• Enforce policies for standardizing systems.
Requirements:
• Three years of experience in networking, IT, or related fields preferred.
• Familiarity with researching communication networks.
• Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail, good documentation skills, ability to write clear, concise project reports.
• Ability to function with minimal instruction or supervision, or as part of a larger team reporting to a formal project.
Top Skills:
• IAT Level II Certification and Interim or Active Secret Clearance.
• Experience with layers 1-3 of the OSI model, network management software, VLANs, OSPF.
• TACACS experience for classified networks.
• Familiarity with models of TACLANES and standard maintenance.
Work Environment:
• Performed across multiple sites in Dahlgren, VA.
• Business Casual.
• The contract has about 200 people broken down into different teams of Linux, Windows, IT Support, networking, applications, security, etc.
