Position Description: MI Technical Solutions is seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator to join its team. In this role, the Linux SA will build, configure, maintain, and monitor a variety of Linux-based systems. A strong applicant will be well-versed in a variety of Linux-based distros and will demonstrate competency in troubleshooting and configuration.

Position Description: MI Technical Solutions is seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator to join its team. In this role, the Linux SA will build, configure, maintain, and monitor a variety of Linux-based systems. A strong applicant will be well-versed in a variety of Linux-based distros and will demonstrate competency in troubleshooting and configuration.
Responsibilities:
- Continuously administer and monitor Linux-based resources. Monitor for suspicious activity, out of date patches/updates, configuration errors, etc.
- Manage access to hosted resources and applications. Work with Cybersecurity to determine levels of user access and authorization.
- Configure and maintain images in support of NIST and CMMC Compliance standards. Remediate flaws discovered by cybersecurity. Demonstrate compliance with follow-on testing.
- Build, deploy, and maintain Linux-based Nessus scanners. Install tenable Nessus managed by Security Center in support of a proper Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) asset.
- Provide technical support to users accessing Linux-based resources and tools. Provide troubleshooting to users who need a Linux-based tool but have limited familiarity with Linux.
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu, etc.
- Experience managing virtualized hosts, especially in an ESXI environment.
- Experience with entry-level networking, including the ability to maintain network connectivity for a Linux host with Network Engineer support.
Requirements:
- DoD Secret Clearance
- Must have current CompTIA Sec+
- Experience with continuous monitoring, server administration, system administration, etc.
- Strong experience with troubleshooting, especially in user-facing roles
- Experience with virtualization (ESXI, VirtualBox, VMware, Docker/Podman, etc.)
- Experience with vulnerability scanning and management tools preferred
- Experience in IT automation (Ansible), scripting, Git, and Python a plus
