Join a small, cross-functional engineering team delivering next-generation command-and-control solutions for national-security space and missile-defense missions. You will own system-level requirements, architecture, and validation activities for a complex, software-intensive platform supporting real-time operations. Work is fully on-site at a secure customer facility in the Mountain West region and requires an active Secret clearance (with the ability to upgrade to TS/SCI)

Key responsibilities
- Drive the development and maintenance of physical, functional, and technical baseline artifacts for an evolving C2/communications system
- Elicit, derive, decompose, and manage requirements down to subsystem and component level in an established requirements-management tool
- Model mission threads using use-cases, sequence diagrams, and SysML within a model-based systems-engineering (MBSE) environment
- Generate system/element functional, performance, and interface specifications; maintain logical and physical architectures
- Collaborate with software, cybersecurity, and test teams to ensure traceability from concept through verification
- Represent the program in technical interchange meetings, customer briefings, and milestone reviews
- Support Agile planning by translating system use-cases into epics, features, and acceptance criteria
- Provide rapid-response engineering support for high-priority customer tasking and on-orbit issues
Minimum qualifications
- U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance and eligibility for TS/SCI
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related STEM field and 9+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 7+ years
- Demonstrated systems-engineering ownership of complex, real-time or mission-critical systems
- Hands-on experience with requirements management, interface definition, and architecture modeling (e.g., SysML)
- Familiarity with Agile development practices and incremental capability delivery
Preferred qualifications
- Background in space-domain awareness, missile-defense, or other Department of Defense mission areas
- Experience defining cyber-security requirements and supporting system accreditation
- IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE)
- Proficiency with Cameo/MagicDraw, DOORS NG (or similar), and Atlassian tool suite
- Track record of technical leadership and customer engagement on multi-disciplinary teams
