Position Summary
Job Title: Senior Network Engineer (CCIE) - Tier 4 Support Lead
Location: USCENTCOM - Tampa, FL (Primarily On-Site)
Schedule: Full-time | 8 hours/day, 5 days/week (Flexible start times available; potential for 4x10 schedule)
Salary: Starting at $190,000/year
Clearance: Active DoD Clearance required (Top Secret preferred)
Overview: NTG supports USCENTCOM with comprehensive End-to-End IT services, including servers, hosts, AV, networking, VIP support, and more. We are seeking a highly experienced
Senior Network Engineer (CCIE) to serve as the Tier 4 Lead on our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team. This role will act as the top-tier networking expert across the contract, supporting both the O&M and Engineering teams with technical leadership, project execution, and knowledge transfer.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the lead Tier 4 networking expert for all O&M and Engineering team initiatives.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot complex Cisco-based network environments across CONUS and OCONUS locations.
• Lead major networking projects and transitions, including hardware upgrades and new technology rollouts.
• Collaborate with Engineering to validate and integrate emerging technologies into operational environments.
• Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and hands-on training to junior engineers.
• Develop and maintain advanced virtual labs (EVE-NG, Cisco CML) to simulate environments and train team members.
• Act as a senior responder during real-world emergency operations and critical outages.
Technical Environment:
Hardware:
• Cisco 4K ISR (upgrading to 8300/8500 routers)
• ASR 1K (upgrading to Cisco 8500 routers)
• Cisco 9200/9300 stack switches
• Cisco 9400 chassis switches
• Cisco Nexus, ACI, DFCI
• Cisco FTD and ASA firewalls
• Cisco 3650/3850 (being phased out)
Key Technologies:
• DMVPN, Site-to-Site VPNs
• VRF, MPLS, CSfC Kits
• Black Core, Mobile Kits
Routing Protocols:
• EIGRP, OSPF, BGP
Software/Tools:
• Advanced network management solutions
• Cisco CML & EVE-NG for lab simulations and training
Qualifications:
• Active Cisco CCIE certification required
• 8+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role
• Proven expertise across routing, switching, firewalls, and Cisco enterprise platforms
• Experience designing and managing complex architectures (data center, VPN, MPLS, ACI, etc.)
• Proficiency in network simulation tools like EVE-NG and Cisco CML
• Strong leadership, documentation, and mentoring skills
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with a DoD clearance.
Work Environment & Schedule:
• Primarily on-site support in Tampa, FL
• Flexible start times (e.g., 5AM-2PM, 6AM-3PM, 9AM-6PM)
• Option for 4x10 schedule based on performance and command approval
