Responsibilities
The successful candidate will serve as Test Director during flight test mission execution, as well as be responsible for pre-mission planning and post-mission reporting. Responsibilities may also include test plan and test card writing, and long-range planning. The ideal Senior Flight Test Engineer / Test Director candidate will possess technical expertise in planning, executing, analysis, and reporting of initial envelope expansion testing.

Required Experience:
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in all phases of planning, executing and managing ground and flight tests and a reputation of being a team player
• In-depth knowledge of or test experience to include control room ground and flight test monitoring of Safety of Flight and Safety of Test parameters
• Maturity and professionalism to lead the execution of flight test missions, briefings and oversee team of test control and discipline engineers
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
• Experience generating post flight mission reports and other detailed formal reports
• Position requires willingness to accept changing and evolving roles & responsibilities in support of customer requirements and need
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• Ability to effectively function and make decisions in dynamic, high-pressure environments
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly
• Proficient with Integrated Analysis & Data Systems (IADS)
Desired Skills/Experience:
• In-depth knowledge of flight test methodologies
• Proven experience executing envelope expansion ground and flight test
• Proficiency in analyzing flight test data
• Certification or training in flight test operations or related disciplines
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly
• Developmental test and operational test operations experience
• Experience in flight test of avionics systems, weapons, live fires and releases, and sensor testing
• Experience in Electronic Warfare and RF/IR Countermeasures
• Previous experience in aero performance/flight envelope expansion
• Previous experience as aircrew member (Pilot, EWO, NAV, etc.) is a plus but not required
• Private Pilot license is a plus but not required
• Test Pilot School Graduate a plus but not required for this FTE position
Travel:
Travel is anticipated to be approximately 20 days annually.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor and/or Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related STEM field.
Clearance Requirements:
Current DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility as well as the ability to attain special program access is required.

- Provide specialized support to the team during the planning, execution, analysis and reporting phases
- Support ground and flight test card development and review with other operational personnel and engineering disciplines
- Help develop and review flight test safety plans
- Develop and support publication of support plans and procedures for developmental testing
- Oversee scheduling of resources for tests and coordinate with many engineering disciplines and outside agencies to ensure successful test execution
- As a Test Director, lead test mission briefs and lead/supervise the execution of test missions
- Complete post-test mission reporting requirements
- Analyze test data to validate and refine envelope expansion methodology
- Review and evaluate test procedures to ensure satisfactory completion of program requirements
- Conduct and contribute to predictions and post-data analysis to support anomaly identification and resolution
- Work under only general direction to develop solutions
- Must be able to learn additional engineering disciplines if required
