Position: Power Platform Business Analyst

Location: Washington DC, mostly remote but must be open to occasional onsite meetings.

Clearance: DHS CBP Public Trust

Job Summary:

Our great client is seeking is Power Platform Business Analyst to play a critical role in designing, enhancing, and maintaining business applications, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft PowerApps and PowerAutomate. The role includes translating business needs into functional application features, supporting application lifecycle management, documenting technical specifications, and engaging stakeholders through training and demonstrations. The analyst will also contribute to a larger program focused on business case analysis, acquisition support, and data-driven decision-making. This is a hybrid role and candidates must reside in the Washington, D.C. metro area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the design, enhancement, and testing of PowerApp-based tools to meet mission needs.
  • Build and update PowerAutomate workflows to improve process efficiency and automation.
  • Update and maintain documentation including Admin Guides, user guides, and technical manuals.
  • Conduct demonstrations and support training for stakeholders and end users.
  • Participate in internal and client meetings; capture and submit meeting minutes for client sessions.
  • Develop technology solutions that improve data collection, management, and reporting functions.
  • Assist in application debugging, refinement, and performance enhancement.
  • Translate business requirements into functional system designs and application roadmaps.
  • Conduct system and workflow analyses to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support financial and operational assessments through data modeling and application development.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on business process optimization, acquisition strategy, and reporting frameworks.
  • Contribute to agency-wide initiatives such as research lifecycle tracking tools and frontline equipment ordering applications.
  • Designing and supporting systems using SharePoint, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and relational databases.
  • Working within project management and collaboration platforms such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Advising on IT security, data privacy, infrastructure, and automation best practices.
  • Participating in solution development that aligns with IT security and compliance standards.


Required Qualifications:
  • Active CBP BI clearance is required.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in business IT analysis and application development
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in PowerApps, PowerAutomate, and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with IT systems analysis, application development lifecycle, and end-user support
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Reside in the Washington, DC-Maryland-Virginia (DMV) area
  • Preferred Tools & Technologies: JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, RPA, structured systems analysis, data modeling, IT and data security standards
