The Training Specialist III is responsible for developing, delivering, and managing training programs for Department of Defense (DoD) health IT initiatives, including JOMIS and PARATUS system deployments. This role designs comprehensive curriculum and supports Learning Management System (LMS) integration to ensure effective user training on profiling modules and clinical applications. The specialist will coordinate training efforts across Navy medical readiness units (NMRTCs) and lead user education campaigns to support system adoption.

Type of Employment: Full-time, W2

Work Location/Travel: Remote with up to 25% travel to client sites including Navy installations; relocation not required

Salary Range: $85,000-$110,000 annually (W2, based on education, experience, and geographic location)

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop training materials, including curriculum, job aids, and e-learning modules for JOMIS and PARATUS applications.

  • Execute health IT training plans and deliver instructional sessions tailored to Navy healthcare environments.

  • Support LMS integration, ensuring seamless access to training content for end-users.

  • Coordinate training activities for profiling system modules across NMRTCs and readiness units.

  • Conduct needs assessments and adapt training approaches based on user feedback and system updates.

  • Collaborate with program teams, instructional designers, and Navy stakeholders to align training with operational goals.

  • Track training metrics and support continuous improvement of training delivery methods.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Expertise in curriculum development, instructional design, and training delivery for health IT applications.

  • Strong understanding of digital learning platforms and LMS integration.

  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills for diverse learner audiences.

  • Ability to adapt training strategies to meet Navy operational and clinical readiness needs.

Education/Certification Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Health Education, Public Health or a related field

Experience Required:

  • 13+ years of experience in training development and delivery, with a focus on healthcare IT systems and applications.

  • Experience providing training for profiling modules and supporting adoption in Navy environments.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)

  • Familiarity with digital learning tools and LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Docebo)

Desirable (Not Required) Skills/Experience:

  • Proficiency in e-learning tools, content development software, and LMS platforms.

  • Ability to manage large-scale training programs within DoD healthcare environments.
