We are looking for you to join our team as a Manager, Engineering 2, to lead a group consisting of manufacturing engineering, test engineering, and industrial engineering based out of Buffalo, NY, reporting to the Director, Manufacturing Operations, and supporting the Amherst Systems Operating Unit (OU).

What You'll Get to Do:
The Manager Engineering 2 will lead a team of engineers working to support all manufacturing operations at the Buffalo, NY campus. The successful candidate will lead direct report employees based on organizational goals, program activity, and company policies. The ideal candidate will be able to work individually as well as collaborate with a diverse group of individuals, work tactically, but with an eye towards future strategy, and exhibit solid communication skills while acting as the technical representative voice for the technical arm of the manufacturing team.

Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

What You'll Get to Do:

The Manager will support and be accountable for goals, including:
- Drive the manufacturing technology strategy for the Buffalo campus, including leading capital planning, leading manufacturing IRAD projects, and leading projects aimed at improving manufacturing technical activity (MTA)
- Coaching and mentoring team of engineers in both discipline-specific technical and interpersonal skills in support of manufacturing activities
- Development, planning, and design of facilities and manufacturing facility layouts.
- Lead manufacturing organization capacity planning.
- Development of statistical process controls to refine and control techniques in all aspects of the production environment.
- Facilitate a high level of manufacturing involvement early in the product design process
- Provide project and technical oversight of all activities performed by the group
- Prepare cost estimates, provide proposal inputs, and review proposal content for both internal and external customers
- Presents work products at program reviews, proposals, or other project meetings
- Create new and modify existing assembly/ manufacturing instructions with necessary operations to support the build sequence, while also including specifications/quality requirements
- Apply advanced manufacturing processes, model-based manufacturing, and development of a manufacturing plan
- Ensure team members are familiar with and use the required engineering processes, procedures, and tools
- Facilitate/mediate in conflict resolution matters.
- Leadership for support and adherence to standard processes.
- Cultivate an inclusive and engaging workplace. Ensure employees' work-life balance is appropriate.
- Forecasting staffing needs and workload; employee inclusion, engagement, mentoring, and career development; providing employee training and identifying necessary skills for program execution; managing employee performance reviews; and leading a multitude of functional management processes.

- Demonstrate excellence in written and oral communication skills along with proven success working in an integrated product team environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline with 8 years of engineering, manufacturing, or related experience; master's degree in an engineering discipline with 6 years of engineering, manufacturing, or related experience
- 6+ years of manufacturing engineering and/or manufacturing technology experience
- 4+ years of project management / IPT leadership/cost account management experience.
- Candidate must have experience in engineering and manufacturing processes, be proficient in process development as well as functional organization aspects.
- Experience in cost estimation, cost account management, developing detailed integrated schedules, risk identification and management, earned value management, and proposals
- U.S. Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a manager with direct reports
- Experience working with SAP in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.
- Experience generating or overseeing the creation of Manufacturing BOMs, processes, and work instructions
- Knowledge of electronics manufacturing
- Experience leading large cross-functional development projects.
