The Garrett Group is seeking an Associate Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to support all aspects of Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) industrial security programs, ensuring compliance with personnel and facility security requirements. Candidates will assist FSO in matters related to physical, personnel, information, and industrial security functions while managing security databases and facilitating corporate offices comply with Industrial Security (NISPOM) regulations. The selected candidate will also support the insider threat program and create training materials support both industrial security and insider threat areas.

Key Responsibilities
- Security Program Support: Assist in managing SCI programs, including personnel, physical, information, and industrial security.
- Corporate Physical Security:
- Ensure corporate offices are in compliance industrial security regulations
- Ensure protection of corporate proprietary information, personal identifying information (PII) maintained in company spaces and automated systems.
- Personnel Security & Clearance Management:
- Provide security office services to ensure personnel meet and maintain SCI billet clearance requirements.
- Manage Periodic Reinvestigation Programs, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and Access Control Systems (ACS).
- Assist in processing personnel, visitor requests, and security clearance verifications in DISS, NBIS, Scattered Castles, and SCIBS databases.
Security Clearance Requirements
- Active Top Secret (TS) clearance (Some roles may require eligibility for SCI or Special Access Programs (SAP)).
- Background Investigation: Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or Tier 5 investigation.
Education & Experience
- Experience:
- Four years and degree or 8 years' experience in lieu of a degree in personnel security, adjudication, or background investigations.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, security management, political science, or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of DoD personnel security policies (e.g., DoD 5200.2-R, ICD 704).
- Experience with security databases such as DISS, JPAS (legacy), e-QIP/NBIS.
Skills & Knowledge
- Personnel Security Processes:
- Security clearance adjudication & vetting.
- Handling SF-86 and related security forms.
- Knowledge of suitability and continuous evaluation programs.
- Security Regulations:
- Familiarity with DoD and federal security policies (EO 12968, EO 13467, NISPOM).
- Familiarity with insider threat program requirements and issues preferred.
- Analytical & Communication Skills:
- Ability to assess security risks.
- Strong written and verbal communication for reports, adjudications and training development/delivery
- Significant experience with Microsoft Office products to include Excel and PowerPoint, with SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat preferred.

- Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC)
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
- Adjudicator Professional Certification (APC)
