IT Support II

Location: Fort Lee, Virginia

Clearance: Secret

Description:

HigherEchelon is seeking an IT Support II Technician who provides Tier II technical support and acts as a critical link between entry-level technicians and escalated system administration. This role is involved in resolving complex service tickets, supporting Army classroom technology, performing workstation imaging, and contributing to knowledge base development for the CASCOM G6 mission. The position is based at Fort Gregg-Adams, VA, requiring full-time, on-site work, and an active DoD Secret clearance.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Job Responsibilities:

Resolve mid-level technical issues escalated from Tier I support, including hardware failures, OS configuration issues, and user account problems.

Image, deploy, and troubleshoot Windows workstations in line with approved system baselines.

Support software installations, printer configurations, network connectivity, and CAC/PIV troubleshooting.

Collaborate with the SCCM team on automated deployments and patch validation.

Maintain detailed logs of incident resolutions and contribute to ticket trending analysis.

Train and mentor IT Support I technicians to improve first-call resolution rates.

Deliver in-person support in classrooms, command offices, and technical spaces.

Support basic AV and remote desktop configurations used in classrooms and staff meetings.

Participate in shift planning and coverage for high-priority service windows and VIP events.

Required Skills:

Strong working knowledge of Windows OS and Army-standard desktop environments.

Hands-on experience with workstation imaging, patching, and configuration.

Ability to resolve complex hardware and software issues.

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Must have a Secret security clearance

Desired Skills:

Experience supporting TRADOC classrooms or enterprise service desks.

Working knowledge of AESMP/Remedy ticketing tools.

Familiarity with Army classroom peripherals and remote troubleshooting techniques.

Education and Experience:

Associate degree in Information Systems or related field (or equivalent experience).

3+ years in end-user support roles with increasing responsibility.

Certifications required:

CompTIA Security+ (IAT Level II baseline; current)

CompTIA A+ or Network+
