IT Support III
Location: Fort Lee, Virginia

Description:
HigherEchelon is seeking an IT Support III Technician who acts as the senior field engineer and subject matter expert for high-level desktop support operations. This role bridges service desk and infrastructure teams, managing critical escalations, VIP support, software packaging coordination, and mentoring junior staff. The position is central to resolving complex technical issues promptly, documented, and in alignment with the mission requirements. This position is based at Fort Gregg-Adams, VA, and requires a full-time, on-site presence with an active DoD Secret clearance.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide advanced desktop and peripheral support across the CASCOM enterprise.
Handle and resolve VIP incidents within a 2-hour SLA, including support for executive staff, command group, and classroom trainers.
Troubleshoot complex Windows operating system, hardware, and software integration issues.
Lead deployment and testing of new software packages in coordination with SCCM and server teams.
Escalate persistent or systemic issues to the Systems Administrator Lead with documented impact assessments.
Provide field guidance to IT Support I/II technicians; support their development and knowledge transfer.
Document advanced resolution paths, update SOPs, and suggest ticket triage improvements.
Assist with classroom readiness inspections and equipment lifecycle refresh activities.
Track technical trends and provide recommendations for modernization or configuration improvements.
Required Skills:
Advanced skills in Windows imaging, Group Policy troubleshooting, and enterprise printing.
Proven success in handling executive-level support and mission-critical outage resolution.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have a Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
TRADOC or CASCOM-specific user support background.
Experience leading deskside support teams and mentoring junior IT staff.
Familiarity with AESMP/Remedy reporting and service level enforcement.
Experience coordinating with infrastructure and cybersecurity teams in classified environments.
Education and Experience:
Associate degree, minimum; a Bachelor's degree in IT or related discipline is preferred.
5+ years supporting enterprise desktop and end-user computing environments.
