Digital Training Facility (DTF) Technician
Location: Fort Lee, Virginia

Description:
HigherEchelon is seeking a Digital Training Facility (DTF) Technician supporting the daily operation, maintenance, and readiness of over 800 training classrooms across CASCOM. This position provides hands-on IT support for instructor workstations, student terminals, networking, and audiovisual configurations used in training environments supporting Ordnance, Quartermaster, and Transportation Schools. Located at Fort Gregg-Adams, VA, this role requires a full-time, on-site presence with an active DoD Secret clearance.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide technical support for classroom IT equipment, including instructor and student computers, monitors, printers, and smartboards.
Ensure classroom workstations are properly imaged, updated, and configured before scheduled training events.
Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and equipment swaps to minimize classroom downtime.
Coordinate with the Service Desk and SCCM Administrator for ticket resolution and system patching.
Support instructors during class launches, resolving real-time issues affecting training delivery.
Track, inventory, and document hardware changes within assigned classrooms.
Collaborate with the AV/Projector Technician to test, adjust, and calibrate AV systems used for training.
Maintain records of classroom configurations, asset locations, and maintenance cycles.
Report facility-level technical deficiencies and recommend upgrades based on recurring incidents.
Required Skills:
Experience imaging and configuring Windows-based workstations for instructional use.
Familiarity with network cabling, peripheral setup, and AV system basics.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have a Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
Previous experience supporting TRADOC or Army educational environments.
Working knowledge of Remedy/AESMP and Army classroom support workflows.
Familiarity with DoD classroom technology standards and secure computing environments.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate degree is preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in IT support or field tech roles with a focus on instructional or training environments.
Certifications required:
CompTIA Security+ (IAT Level II baseline; current)
CompTIA A+ or similar entry-level IT certification.
