Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert in Surface Warfare operations, leveraging 8+ years of experience as a qualified Surface Warfare Officer
- Provide expertise in Combat Systems operations, components, and associated instructions to enhance training and operational readiness
- Analyze and address Command and Control issues related to surveillance, engagement, and planning functions across numbered fleets
- Develop and implement operational strategies in collaboration with staff and fleet units to ensure mission success
- Facilitate advanced tactical training for Surface Warfare personnel, with a focus on amphibious warfare (AMW), anti-submarine warfare (ASW), or surface warfare (SUW) operations
- Apply knowledge of Fleet operations and planning procedures to support readiness assessments and operational planning efforts
- Utilize WTI (AMW or ASW/SUW) qualifications, if applicable, to provide specialized training and guidance; aviation qualifications are also considered valuable
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and enhance naval doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures
Qualifications
- Possess current Security Clearance of SECRET and TS//SCI eligible.
- U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
- Bachelors Degree
- A minimum of 12 years of military experience, and/or relevant industry and/or government experience with the surface navy's combat systems, C5I, networks, and weapons systems.
- A minimum of 5 years of the experience must be military Strike Group, Fleet, or Major Training Command, Systems Testing Command or similar military organization planning Experience.
- Five (5) years of experience aboard Navy cruisers, destroyers or within qualified Department of Defense warfare areas.
- Qualified and experienced in a watch station with the authority to employ the Aegis Weapon System (i.e. Tactical Action Officer (TAO), Air Warfare Coordinator (AAWC), Battle Watch Captain). Possess a Tactical Action Officer Qualification letter or BMD Watch Officer qualification letter.
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative assessment methods to support war-fighting readiness, capabilities, and capacity evaluations.
- Experience using the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Access, Excel, Power Point, Project and Word).
